At last week’s campus climate symposium, students, staff and faculty gathered to discuss the state of the campus climate at UC Berkeley. Ostensibly, the campus climate survey was the impetus for the symposium. This survey had a few surprising — but mostly unsurprising — results.

On Thursday, January 29, 2015, the College of Environmental Design opened their new Materials Store. Located at 277 Wurster Hall just before the entrance to the Fabrication Lab, the Material Store will serve as a one-stop shop for students within the College of Environmental Design. The new store will provide CED Students the opportunity to purchase materials needed for their projects such as wood, plastic, metal, and equipment.

The UC Berkeley community gathered at Clark Kerr Krutch Theater on Friday to discuss issues of campus climate in response to critical results from a universitywide survey published last spring.

Today the Office of the President has released the findings from the system-wide Campus Climate Survey that was conducted in 2013. While the Berkeley-specific survey data indicate that we have ample reason to take pride in the progress we have made, they also make clear that there is much more work to be done.
