Teaching in Troubled Times

The Teaching in Troubled Times series provides space for critically-needed conversation about teaching and learning in our current social/political context.

These timely, interactive dialogues feature dynamic campus panelists and engage the Berkeley community in exploring how equity and justice challenges – locally, regionally and nationally – are impacting our students, instructors, classrooms, and campus. All events feature plenty of time for open, facilitated discussion.

Launched in 2017-18, the Teaching in Troubled Times series is presented by the Division of Equity & inclusion, the American Cultures Center, the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Multicultural Community Center, the Centers for Educational Justice and Community Engagement, and the Academic Innovation Studio.

All in-person events are wheelchair accessible, and Zoom-based events offer a live transcript option. To request captioning,  ASL interpretation or other accommodations, please contact Disability Access and Compliance at https://dac.berkeley.edu/overview  or email Amy Scharf at ascharf@berkeley.edu. Please refrain from wearing scented products to in-person events, so that people with chemical sensitivities can join us.
