Evelyn is a first-generation Chicana student pursuing a simultaneous degree in Environmental Economics and Policy & Hispanic Languages, Linguistics, and Bilingualism. She transferred to Berkeley from San Diego Mesa College where she was a part of the Puente community, the Promise Program, and a student leader working as a Project Assistant and a Peer Mentor. She also understands the value of fostering community, empowerment, and supporting others. At Cal, she is a part of NAVCAL, SSRP (Social Sciences Research Pathway), EOP, and Puente. After graduation, she hopes to be proactive as an advocate for a greener future, not discount the lives of future generations, and their right to a liveable climate. In her free time, she enjoys playing badminton, watching found-footage films, and volunteering at beach clean-ups.
