CE3 Administrative and Business Operations Coordinator

How long have you been at Berkeley?

I have been a part of the Berkeley community for over a decade now as both a staff member and an alumni. My journey began in the Summer of 2013 as a student, and although I took a brief hiatus during my college career, I proudly graduated in the Spring of 2019 with a major in Art Practice. Soon after, I joined the Berkeley team as a staff member, eager to contribute my skills and experience.

What do you love most about working here?

I love working collaboratively with my team to provide exceptional support to our Centers for Educational Equity and and Excellence (CE3) and Student Equity and Success staff. It is a joy to utilize my artistic background to develop training materials, design our administrative website, and create innovative resources that showcase both creativity, and UC campus policy. I am enthusiastic to have a space to be imaginative while also contributing to the success of our staff in supporting our students. I am also very grateful for the unwavering support that CE3 has provided me in nurturing my leadership skills and professional interests beyond administrative duties. Over my four years as a staff member, I have had the honor of assisting our Immediate Office with staffing, enrolling in UC Berkeley Extension courses sponsored by People and Cultures, and participating in the EOP Staff Fellowship. These invaluable experiences would not have been possible without the encouragement and backing of our CE3 leadership. Their guidance and support have been instrumental in my growth and development.

What's your job?

As a CE3 Business and Operations Coordinator, I play a role in supporting our staff through various administrative tasks. Some of my primary responsibilities include processing Student Financial Aid Awards, managing procurement functions in BearBUY, processing invoices, managing vendors, handling reimbursements, processing travel requests, managing HR position numbers, and taking care of other administrative duties essential to effective programming and operations.

What's a great day at work look like for you?

A great day at work looks like having no administrative troubleshooting. It may seem trivial, but it's always a win when we can ensure that vendors are paid on time, everything is processed efficiently, and we have ample time to focus on our internal process improvement projects.

What do you hope will be different in your work this time next year?

This time next year, I hope to simplify and improve our procurement processes to make administrative work more bearable and efficient for our staff.

Where's your favorite place on campus?

My favorite part of campus is the Stone Bench behind Haviland Hall. It's a beautiful bench surrounded by stones and trees overhead, the perfect place to ground myself and reflect.

Fun facts about me:

I am an avid board game collector with over 200 games of varying themes and complexities. I enjoy spending my weekends with my husband, two Huskies (Miska and Ember) and two Kitties (Leo and Phoenix), cooking new recipes, and playing board games that I have collected.
