Save the Date: Next Opportunity at Work (NOW) Staff Career Development Conference

May 15, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to announce the date of the eighth annual Next Opportunity at Work (NOW) Staff Career Development Conference! We have decided to transform today’s challenges into an opportunity and are thrilled to announce that the 2020 Next Opportunity at Work Conference: “Envision Your Future” will be held virtually on Thursday, July 30, 2020. In the virtual format, we remain committed to setting you up with career resources, skills, and inspiration that will help you to be successful today and in the future at Berkeley (and beyond). Registration for the conference will be announced via an all-staff CalMessage the first week of June. In that CalMessage, you can expect further details about the conference, including instructions for registration and program details.

In line with UC Berkeley’s Staff Participation in Campus-Sponsored Activities, Including Sponsored Staff Organizations, Campus-Sponsored Fellowship Programs policy, and UC Office of the President Policy PPSM-50, managers and supervisors are encouraged to approve requests from staff to attend the 2020 NOW Conference. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your team how much you value them, while providing the resources, materials, and motivation they need to fully engage and perform at their highest potential. Please discuss this important opportunity with members of your team and encourage them to participate in this full day of professional development.

As we navigate this unprecedented time, UC Berkeley People & Culture wants you to know that we’re here to support you and you can find COVID-19 specific resources on our website. Now, more than ever, we feel it is important for UC Berkeley staff to safely maintain community while continuing your learning and career development. We look forward to sharing more information about this exciting opportunity soon! Questions or suggestions may be directed to the NOW Conference Committee (nowconference@berkeley.edu).

Thank you,
Eugene
