Faculty Equity Advisors serve as a resource to ensure equity and inclusion in senate faculty searches.

Advise the search committee on equitable and inclusive search practices for recruiting and selecting new faculty, including proactive outreach methods, equitable candidate evaluation processes, and positive and inclusive committee and departmental interactions.

Ensure that candidate contributions to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are appropriately assessed as part of excellence in research, teaching, and service at multiple stages of the search process.

Review, and approve if/when appropriate the proposed search plan, the demographic diversity of the applicant pool, the group of candidates selected for interviews (short list), and the final search report describing the search processes and search outcome.

Consult with the Office for Faculty Equity & Welfare (OFEW) when questions about the integrity of the search or search practices arise.
