As part of their Academic Program Reviews, all departments conduct a planning process on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice. DEIBJ plans provide departments with the opportunity to develop shared, aspirational goals and strategies, based in data, reflection, and dialogue.
For departments in the planning process, Equity Advisors frequently serve as planning committee members or chairs, providing leadership and support for the work. For units where plans are already in place, Equity Advisors should familiarize themselves with the goals and strategies in the plan, support updating as necessary, and keep an eye on implementation and progress.
The Division of Equity & Inclusion offers support to assist with departmental planning, as well as a range of tools and resources on data collection, analysis, self-assessment, and goal-setting.
