Chicanx Latinx Standing Committee

As part of UC Berkeley’s commitment to a thriving Chicanx-Latinx community on campus, the Chicanx Latinx Standing Committee (CLSC) was formed under the executive sponsorship of the office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity and Inclusion (VCEI) to advise the Chancellor’s Cabinet—which includes the Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost (EVCP) and me—about improving campus equity, inclusion, and the experience for faculty, staff, and students.

Goals

  • Prioritize the recommendations of the Chicanx-Latinx Task Force report
  • Convene sub-committees and serve on ad hoc committees as needed in order to assist with the implementation of recommendations and strategies
  • Provide advise on recommendations from the community to the Chancellor's Cabinet on issues impacting Chicanx-Latinx students, staff and faculty
  • Propose and develop new charge areas that may be identified by the on-going work of the committee
  • Provide input and recommendations to the Hispanic Serving Institutions Task Force
