Lavendar Cal Allies List: Lavendar Cal is UC Berkeley’s network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer employees and is recognized as an official campus staff organization, supported by the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion. Lavendar Cal recently created an ALLIES List. Allies are committed to extending space for everyone to live openly, pursue the studies and careers of their choice, and participate fully in all aspects of society, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. At UC Berkeley, many non-LGBT staff and faculty are proud to be outspoken in support of LGBT colleagues, friends, and family members. Such visibility helps to broaden equity and inclusion, break down stereotypes, and promote multicultural literacy in our workplaces and our communities. If you'd like to add yourself to this Allies list - or offer a "perspective" (with or without a photo) on what it means to you to be an Ally at Cal - please email our moderators at lavmail@lists.berkeley.edu.
