Committees & advisory boards
The mission of the UC Berkeley Equity & Inclusion Advisory Board is to provide advice and support to the UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion and help guide the implementation of the ten-year UC Berkeley Strategic Plan for Equity, Inclusion and Diversity.
The taskforce has been charged with addressing campus climate issues including mapping, assessing and providing recommendations, and giving strategies to campus administrators to address the various needs of the Chicana/o and Latina/o communities on the UC Berkeley campus, including the needs of undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, alumni, and staff.
Campus Climate, Culture, and Inclusion
Under the framework of the Advisory Council on Campus Climate, Culture and Inclusion, joint sessions of delegates from these teams will be instituted, meeting once per semester during the academic year to provide ongoing evaluation of campus climate conditions, practices and policies, suggest measures that will support the goals of inclusion and community, and more.
The committee identifies, analyzes, and partners with the Chancellor on proposing tangible and productive changes to address the needs and concerns of students of color on campus—both graduate and undergraduate—recognizing their fundamental connection to community issues and contexts.
The Taskforce on Undocumented Members of the On-campus Community is charged with identifying and articulating the issues and needs for undocumented members of the UC Berkeley on-campus community and making recommendations for campus intiatives to support them in best achieving their goals here while recognizing legal strictures.
