Cloey Hewitt, Boalt Hall Class of 1979
"I came from extreme poverty and I'm very fortunate to be an African American woman who graduated from UCB and has done very well in life. It's important for me to give back and mentor prospective students to the UCB campus. I believe that Prop. 209 is the biggest mistake that has been made in California history because it inhibits the ability to bring underrepresented minorities into the University of California system. If we don't have full diversity within our university we cannot adequately compete in a global economy."
