The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity and Inclusion is pleased to announce that the interim coordinator for the BILD position has been filled by an amazing staff member on campus following a very competitive search process. The Interim Coordinator for BILD is Livier Bejinez.
Livier comes to BILD from UC Berkeley Extension where she is currently the administrative director for the Fall Program for Freshman. She will be maintaining her position in this program on a part-time basis while serving as the BILD coordinator. Livier, a UC Berkeley staff member for over six years, has a broad background in program administration, student services, research and staff service. She began her career at Cal as the director of the Summer Bridge Program in the Office of New Student Services and has worked with the Office of Admission and Enrollment as a senior analyst and external reader evaluating undergraduate student applications for admission. Before coming to Berkeley she worked for two years as a researcher at UC Santa Cruz examining the school experience of academically successful underrepresented students. Livier has a B.A. in Classical Studies from UC San Diego and a California Teaching Credential. She earned her M.A. in Education Research at UC Santa Cruz and is currently on leave from a graduate program in Theological Studies at the Graduate Theological Union (GTU).
Livier has a strong working knowledge of many campus policies, procedures, and departments, and she has developed successful working relationships with various staff across campus. She is also currently serving a three-year term on the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Committee.
The BILD Coordinator will be part of the new office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion and will be physically located in the Campus Community Initiative offices in the Tang Center at 2222 Bancroft Way #4300.
