The morning and early- afternoon sessions included a panel discussion by representatives from the Stanford Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and the Harvard Civil Rights Project. Attendees participated in small working groups to address how they can help the campus create a prioritized research agenda and community centerpiece for the campus on issues of diversity.
The keynote address was delivered by Boalt Hall Dean Christopher Edley, Jr., co-founder of the Harvard Civil Rights Project (www.civilrightsproject.harvard.edu). Chancellor Robert Birgeneau and Berkeley Academic Senate Chair Robert Knapp also spoke.
